I must admit I do have quite a few little sewing projects at home that I’ve been meaning to get around to. The latest addition to the pile is a print skirt from h&m that needs a little remodeling if I’m going to wear it. This summer most alterations I’ve made have involved merely one utensil… my friend the scissors… old jeans (in the plural sense) transformed into cut-offs for those few sunny days we had way back when. However there are some fabulously creative persons out there who’ve been busy stitching together some DIY delights. So for some inspiration I thought I’d put together a roundup of great DIY posts. If one has the time and the skills these are the business:

Elise from anywho.dk put together these formidable shoulder decorations. And she wears ‘em well:http://anywho.cover.dk/2009/07/22/diy-shoulder-decorations/
Valerie from BleachBlack is like the DIY-blog-queen-lady. Taking cues from the likes of Ms Erin Wasson and Balmain she puts together some serious ensembles. As a matter of fact it seems the BleachBlack girls can make anything work with studs and demon and bleach.

4th and Bleeker. The velvet and stud pants she made are pretty awesome and her tribute to Micahel Jackson dress looks wang inspired.

I just wanted to thank you very much for this enlightening article. I have already bookmarked your site, when I have more free time I am going to have to do some further research. Well back to my dreaming of Panama or back to the books – I wonder which one is going to win out.
