Tim Burton has shown up just in time for Hallowe’en with some dark and enchanting gothic inspiration. Burton has reimagined the season’s darker elements for Harper’s Bazaar in advance of his retrospective at MoMA, New York. Referencing his film repertoire in the feature, there’s more than a nod to characters like Edward Scissorhands, the Mad Hatter, and the Corpse Bride. Burton even makes a cameo in this series photographed by Tim Walker. More images
I’ve been preoccupied with long braids since the Wang show so I’m thinking this year my costume should incorporate voluminous side plaited tresses. Perhaps a Burtonesque Rapunsel?
Although it will be hard to pass up black lace gothic bunny ears, luckily there’s still plenty of time to come up with something awesome.
